VALLEY WATER TIPS N' TRICKS
Water Cooler Maintenance - Sanitization Process
-
Unplug the
cooler.
- Fill 2 (4 liter) jugs with Valley Water
Premium Bottled water. Put a ¼ tsp. of bleach in only one of these jugs
and set them aside for later (mark the one with the bleach in it).
- Remove the 5 gallon water jug from the
cooler.
- Drain all water from cooler.
- Remove the top lid of the cooler (may
vary according to style of cooler) and take apart each piece. Remove air
filter. Unscrew taps and remove drip tray and wash all these parts in a
sink with soapy water and rinse well.
- With a multi-purpose cleaner, wipe down
the outside of cooler. With a clean rag, wipe out the inside reservoir.
- Reassemble cooler.
- Take the bleach water that was made
earlier and pour into the cooler and then use the same jug and drain all
the water through the taps.
- Coolers equipped with a hot tank must
then drain the hot tank reservoir by unscrewing the plug located on the
back of the cooler. Let drain and replace plug.
- Take the non-bleach water that was made
earlier and pour into the cooler and then use the same jug to drain all
the water through the taps.
