People thought we were crazy trying to sell bottled water here in Chilliwack. We were told that it would be like trying to sell refrigerators to Eskimos.

We did some research and found 57 “boil water” warnings in 1990 in B.C. that no one heard about. Some were even in the lower mainland.

This originally got the idea started and in the same year Murray & Gary Moore became partners with the WPS franchise. There were very few bottled water companies at that time so we made this our life long family business. Cary Moore became the first manager and in 1992 Judy Moore came aboard to fill the secretarial role.

The “boil water” warnings in B.C. continued to rise to around 250 a year by 1995 of which several were in the Upper Fraser Valley. We continued to grow in our customer base and have nearly 1,000 clients to date.

The company went through a time where we had an opportunity to be bought out by the “big boys” but chose to remain independent. We didn’t want our customers to become “just another number” so in June of 2002 WPS became Valley Water.

We continue to provide service to Chilliwack, Hope, Agassiz & Harrison, and now due to the demand, offer our services in Abbotsford.
